Treat Rosacea for your Skin

By Alistair Nole

The chronic and occasionally progressive facial disorder called acne rosacea is one that worldwide, affects 45 million people. Symptoms from this include permanent redness and swelling, very sensitive skin, and bloodshot eyes. This skin condition was known to only affect people of north-western European descent, and has been nicknamed the curse of the Celts by some Irish folks.

Rosacea can do similar things as melasma, and create darker patches on the face. Rosacea is different because the marks are more red. It's natural for people's faces to turn red from time to time. If adrenaline levels are high, this can be a reason. When spicier food is consumed, arteries can be dilated and this can be a cause. However, rosacea takes redness to an abnormal level.

Doctors rule out bacterial infection as a cause for rosacea. Genetic traits may point to a group of people who tend to blush more easily than others. The condition can be aggravated by certain factors such as consumption of alcohol, which is also known to make your face red. Rosacea can appear in people at different ages, and it seems to be around 30 years old when dermatologists diagnose this disorder commonly.

Prominent blood vessels on the face, red cheeks and pimples and other bumps, and puffy skin in the nose area are common symptoms of rosacea.

Laser treatments are often used to treat many types of skin conditions, including rosacea. A topical solution is often first recommended by dermatologists for those who rosacea affects. For instance, skin creams can get rid of the abnormal redness through conventional antibiotics like tetracycline and minocin. This works for both light and moderate cases of rosacea. Dermatologists will prescribe more heavy duty oral antibiotics when the disorder is very highly advanced.

Makeup is over-used by people who have rosacea in order to attempt to hide the condition from others. Remember that if you do this, you may only worsen the problem. Do not use makeup for this reason, be sure to only use it when it is for an important engagement, and don't use much. Otherwise, stay away from it. Cleaners that are mild in nature are the best option for rosacea symptoms. If you keep your facial skin clean this will lessen the likelihood that rosacea will spread. It's also a good idea to use only natural cleansers that don't contain strong chemicals and substances. There are parts of some of these cleansers that will cause harm to your skin.

The symptoms from rosacea can happen to anyone, no matter their background and many find their quality of life is not as good as it was before. Depending on the certain kind of rosacea that a person is suffering from, a suitable treatment can be devised that will be most beneficial to a patient. Using products that are natural in origin help a lot for reducing rosacea symptoms. However, like any medical condition, it's always best to consult the specialists. A reputable and reliable skin doctor can provide you with the most effective treatment for melasma, rosacea, and other skin disorders to make you happier and more confident.
