Get Your Kids To Eat Vegetables

Back in our childhood days, many if not all were always reminded by parents to eat veggies to stay strong and healthy.

It's actually a fact that many foods taste awkward specially some of the vegetables. Of course it depends on the person since taste vary with individuals.

We already know that eating vegetables bring about many benefits. Equipped with vitamins and minerals, vegetables are a must eat and should always be added in our daily meal. You can see a variety of colors, textures and shapes present in vegetables.

Although these vitamins and minerals can be taken from supplements and drinks, it doesn't actually guarantee its effectiveness as that of taking it from eating vegetables. Thus, we really need to teach our children to eat veggies. Question is, how do you get kids to eat vegetables?

One good idea, is to feed them the vegetables that taste good, and find ways to modify the vegetables they don't seem to like. Sugar can be added to their meal to have a sweeter taste and add squash for the soft and smooth taste. To make it more palatable to children you can saute the vegetable on butter or garlic. You can opt for cauliflowers or broccoli since these vegetables are palatable for children when sauted or cooked with various sauces. Saute as well as meals with sauce are the best way to conceal the bitter as well as other unpalatable tastes in vegetables..

Of course, a lot of us will also agree that other fruits taste better as they are or uncooked. Nature seems to have a way of making them taste that way. The tomato is one of the many vegetables that tastes really good without being cooked which you can simply eat right from the garden. In addition, you can also nibble on carrots right after picking from the garden since they are sweet and actually taste really great. This is not the case with most tuber type vegetables like rutabagas and turnips.

Like potatoes and squash, these can be prepared with butter or other seasoning and taste is not bad.

If you're going to cook vegetables, it's better to saute them rather than boil them. You retain most of the vitamins and minerals in the vegetables themselves, they taste more like their natural state, and are much easier to fix. Furthermore, cooking your veggies Al Dente can also boost your meals' taste.

No matter how you put it, vegetables are still the best source of essential proteins, vitamins and minerals that the body. Getting your children to eat them is not difficult if you use your imagination, consider what they like, and prepare those that are not so tasteful in ways that seem to mask the taste. If you do, you'll be providing your kids with all the health benefits that they need.
